Ayo Daniel Abiola, PQS
Ayo Daniel Abiola is the Manager of Hanscomb's Saskatchewan office, specializing in quantity surveying, lifecycle costing, and sustainability studies for mechanical and electrical scopes of work in buildings and infrastructure development across Canada.
In 2024, Ayo became one of only eleven Canadians and sixty-four individuals globally to earn a certification in Building Decarbonization from ASHRAE. With a background in engineering and building services, his experience spans roles as a project manager and contractor's estimator for both new constructions and existing facility upgrades. As a qualified Professional Engineer (PEng) and Quantity Surveyor (PQS), Ayo bridges the gap between cost-efficiency and sustainability for architects and building owners through meticulous quantification, assessment, and reporting of costs, carbon emissions, and lifecycle impacts.
Ayo is also an active educator, training over 350 professionals and executives in sustainable infrastructure planning and development through MIT Professional Education. He contributes regularly to the Construction Economist, the quarterly trade publication of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, where he is a featured writer on building decarbonization.
Currently serving as the Sustainability Chair for ASHRAE Regina, Ayo is also a co-founder and board advisor of Black Engineers of Canada. He is a graduate of Western University in London, Ontario, and University College London (UCL) in the UK.
