Morozova, and Alex Valova in this exciting webinar, Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act: Where Do "Owners" and "Constructors" Currently Stand? In this round table discussion, the panel of senior industry professionals will delve into the current status following the R. v Greater Sudbury (City) ruling and the changed landscape of construction and infrastructure projects.

Speakers Biography:

Sahil Shoor: Sahil Shoor is a litigation and dispute resolution partner with Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP. His national practice is focused on commercial construction, real estate development, infrastructure/civil works, power/energy and major public-private partnership/transit projects. He provides strategic advice to clients to minimize legal risk during procurement and construction.  He is as comfortable managing large trials on highly technical disputes as he is in conducting mediations, adjudications and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Sahil’s experience as counsel on large arbitration and trials allows him to quickly understand the technical aspects of a construction claim and to provide advice as to the appropriate methods to efficiently resolve disputes. He has extensive experience in disputes involving tenders, RFPs, construction contracts, construction liens, engineering issues, and negligence claims involving architects and engineers. Sahil is an author and frequent speaker on complex litigation and construction issues including procurement, construction liens, delay claims, construction disputes, and settlement of multi-party litigation. Sahil has been recognized by Chambers Canada, the Legal 500 Canada and in 2022, was named a Lexpert’s “Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40”.

Olga S. Morozova: Olga is a senior lawyer, proudly serving the Canadian construction industry. She has acted for players on all levels of the construction pyramid, including contractors, designers, owners, and sureties. In her current role as Senior Legal Counsel at Dragados Canada, Inc., Olga supports a world-class design-build team in their pursuit and delivery of critical Canadian infrastructure projects under various contracting models.

Alex Valova: Alex is a Senior Legal Counsel at Metrolinx where she deals with complex construction disputes and claims on large infrastructure projects. She started her career in private practice with a focus on litigation matters. Alex later transitioned into an in-house role at a large North American multi-trade construction company. She dealt with complex disputes and contract negotiation for various projects, including public infrastructure, utility and renewables across Canada and the United States. Alex holds a Master’s in Business Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.

  • Cancellations must be received by email to [email protected] no later than 48 hours prior to the webinar for a full refund less 25% admin fee OR credit note for a future webinar
  • Cancellations received 0-2 days prior is not eligible for a refund
  • Refunded registrations will not receive a recording of the webinar (where available)
  • If you fail to cancel but did not attend the website, there will be no refund but you will receive a copy of the presentation (where available)
