On April 21, the CIQS invites all members, non-members and stakeholders to the "Construction Estimates and Budgets" webinar featuring industry expert Mel Yungblut PQS(F), Principal at Rider Levett Bucknall.
Mel will explore the traditional approaches to estimate preparation, methods and emerging opportunities in the creation of estimates for various budget classes, including Class A to Class E estimates for building construction and civil engineering projects across Canada. Mel will also discuss recent innovative approaches to methods of estimating including emerging infrastructure initiatives.
As a recognized leader in construction economics and past president of the CIQS, Mel will share his knowledge and thoughts on how current challenges can be pivoted for the benefit of he profession and industry.
A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Speaker Biography
Mel Yungblut is a Professional Quantity Surveyor (Fellow) with over 30 years of
experience in construction economics extending from pre-contract to project
delivery to contract close out. Mel has been instrumental in building a
national professional practice and continues to extend his leadership skills in
assisting clients to navigate complex challenges resulting from cost uncertainty
and budget preparation. Mel has worked on new builds and refurbishment on green and
brown field sites.

Registrations close 2 days prior to webinar
- An email with a link to the webinar will be sent 48 hours (2 days) prior to event to the email provided at registration – all registrants must pay in full to get the link (Make sure our email address is white listed as we are not responsible if your webinar link email goes into your spam folder)
- Cancellations must be received by email to [email protected] no later than 48 hours prior to the webinar for a full refund less 25% admin fee OR credit note for a future webinar
- Cancellations received 0-2 days prior is not eligible for a refund
- Refunded registrations will not received a recording of the webinar (where available)
- If you fail to cancel but did not attend the website, there will be no refund but you will receive a copy of the presentation (where available)
- If you are unable to attend but would like to transfer your registration to a colleague, email [email protected] no later than 24 hours prior to the event.
- Include your replacement’s full name, company, phone and email address.
Refunds will not be given for the following reasons:
